Imagine a competition where you are giving back, purely by entering. Imagine the possibilities. The sole purpose of this competition is to assist people and conservation entities. This, in turn, benefits wildlife, involves communities and helps to protect natural wilderness.

The sustainable model of eco-tourism has been hugely affected this year, by the loss of income due to the inability for guests to travel to Africa. Due to this many organisations and people on the ground are suffering and this is where we have stepped in to help. There are 2 organizations that are of significant importance to highlight during this time, organisations who we work closely with and who we understand well.

2020 has been a year filled with many challenges and hurdles. Across the globe, we have all been impacted in some way by this global pandemic. Escape Safari Co. and Melvill & Moon have teamed up to provide some light at the end of the tunnel while making a difference. Together, we will be gifting a once-in-a-lifetime prize - a unique, privately guided journey for two, valued at $30,000 (ZAR450,000). This luxury safari experience, a journey through the western regions of South Africa all the way to the Green Kalahari, will be privately guided and hosted along the entire route by Escape Safari Co. To enter, all you need to do is make a contribution towards the invaluable work being done by Tracker Academy and K.E.E.P, a project under the Tswalu Foundation. You will then be entered into a competition of a lifetime!

All you need to do is follow the link and donate a small amount of money toward these organisations, you will then be entered into a competition of a lifetime!

WHO WE ARE HELPING

TRACKER ACADEMY

Trackers are an essential part of the safari experience and conservation work carried out across Africa. The Tracker Academy is the first and only specialised tracker training academy in the world, and is endorsed by FGASA. The academy aims to create a culture of curiosity among its students, both male and female, combining tracking skills with modern conservation techniques to advance tracking as a profession. Through intensive training and assessment, graduates become ambassadors for the African wildlife industry by bringing authenticity and accuracy to environmental education, wildlife protection, ecotourism, monitoring and research. There are currently campuses at Londolozi, Samara and Tswalu.

K.E.E.P (Tswalu Foundation)

Kalahari Endangered Ecosystem Project (KEEP) is a multidisciplinary study on the Tswalu private reserve, supported by the Tswalu Foundation, that takes into account that key Kalahari species interact with each other in complex food webs. Whereas most climate change research is usually focused on one or two species, KEEP brings together experts in their fields from all over the world, all working together, integrating their findings, and sharing data and resources. Through KEEP, climate change research has been elevated beyond studying a single species in isolation to an ambitiously scaled endeavour measuring how multiple species respond, adapt and interact in response to changing environmental conditions.

Escape Safari Co. and Melvill & Moon have teamed up with Tracker Academy, K.E.E.P, Tswalu Foundation and Swarovski Optik to put together a competition like none other. Imagine winning an unforgettable safari experience for one lucky couple, who will get the opportunity to spend 7-nights away, travelling from Cape Town to Tswalu Kalahari with the Escape Safari Co. team.

The goal of the competition is to not only raise awareness for Tracker Academy and K.E.E.P (Tswalu Foundation) but also raise funds that will be donated to both parties upon completion of the competition. Our goal is to raise USD16,500 (ZAR250,000) over a 6-week competition period, which will run from 01 December 2020 – 15 January 2021.

This is a global competition and is open to anyone and everyone, over 18 years of age, who has a valid passport and is able to travel to South Africa! Through this competition, we hope to create some excitement after a long, hard year whilst making a considerable social impact in the process.
